The producers did a good job in recreating the Abu Dhabi but the scenes were actually shot in Morocco like many other previous Hollywood productions. The pampered women roamed the socalled Abu Dhabi desert, palaces, souk, nightclubs, and each of them got a private servant accompanying them at all times including one who is obviously gay. It is not a secret that Abu Dhabi has an unprecedented plan to shine globally as they city hosts the Guggenheim Museum, National Geographic, Formula One, Louvre Museum, PopMusic Stars, Masdar Green City,[url=http://www.sport.fr/smartphones/moncler.asp]moncler homme[/url], and now Sex and the City. Some may view it as an educational promotional scheme that reminds foreigners that they may enjoy rich Abu Dhabi as long as they refrain from drugs and sex openly. Others may look at it as degrading to the city with scenes like that of Sarah Jessica Parker only succeeding to stop a taxi by lifting her Abaya just enough to show her legs. Towards the end of the film, the four women escape a souk filled with angry Emiraty men following them when they are ushered into a back room of a store by several Emiraty women wearing black Abayas with their eyes only showing. Once in, the New York women are shocked when the local women rip off their Abayas to showoff their miniskirts and their revealing fashionable dresses that come in bright colors as the music rolls followed by a fast forward back to the USA. |
